  • Cupcakes and Kids Books with Mrs. Fontana Virtual Camp

    June 22-26 | 1:00-2:00 pm
    For rising JK-2 grade
    CUPCAKES AND KIDS BOOKS
    for rising JK-2 grade
    This class combines popular children’s books with fun and creative cupcake decorating. In this one hour class your daughter will listen to a story then, with the supplies provided, decorate a cupcake that goes along with the story. Pete the Cat, Camilla the cupcake Fairy, Uni the Unicorn and more.

  • A Midsummer Night's Dream Fairy Ballet

    For Hutchison girls and siblings entering grades 3-6
    Session I: July 6-10
    Session II: July 13-17
    Can take one or both sessions
    Keep your girl's love for dance blossoming throughout the summer. We will start each day with an all-levels ballet class and then explore choreography based on William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. We will also create costumes and set pieces for a socially distanced performance on the final day of camp.

    For girls and boys in entering grades 3-4
    July 6-10 The Ickabog
     
    Build vocabulary and reading skills with two great books.
    We will read JK Rowling’s brand-new release, The Ickabog. Create illustrations based on the book to submit in a world-wide contest to have artwork published in The Ickabog book, due to be published in November 2020. We will read and talk about the books together, book club style.

    For Hutchison students and siblings entering grades 3-6
    Make cool science projects that mom won't let you do at home! Chemistry rockets, exploding Mentos, elephant toothpaste, egg in a bottle, and smoke bomb launchers. Experiment with magnets, electricity, air pressure, eggs, and sound. Get ready to get messy and have fun!

  • Fabric Design and Mask Making

    For Hutchison students and siblings entering grades 3-6
    July 13-17 | 9:00 AM-12:00 PM
    Learn design techniques including tie dye, block printing, hand painting, and laser printing to design creative and colorful cotton fabrics.  On the last day turn your fabric creations into protective face masks for yourself, friends, and family.

    Learn performance basics, like how to use minds, bodies, and voices to theatrically tell a story. Stretch creative muscles by inventing their very own superpowered alter-egos! Campers will share about themselves, what makes them super, and together the class will create an original story to perform at the end of the week!

    STORYTELLING IN A VIRTUAL LANDSCAPE
    For Hutchison girls entering grades 9-12
    Girls will research the fundamentals of theatre; it’s purpose, procedures, and practice, and then explore the means of adapting works from the stage to the screen. They will write, design, and act in short plays around topics of interest, and then participate in the recording and editing of those works for a “distanced” audience.  Hutchison girls needing a .5 fine art credit may take this advanced course. Girls taking this course for credit will have additional study and projects over the two weeks of the course.
