    Calling all artists, superhero lovers, or graphic novel enthusiasts. During this workshop you will be putting your storytelling skills and artistic skills (either digital or drawing) to use as you create a story for the ages. Read graphic novels and create your own throughout this weeklong workshop that explores the boundary between art and writing.

    For girls and boys entering grades 3-6
    Make cool science projects that mom won't let you do at home! Chemistry rockets, exploding Mentos, elephant toothpaste, egg in a bottle, and smoke bomb launchers. Experiment with magnets, electricity, air pressure, eggs, and sound. Get ready to get messy and have fun!

    Learn basic techniques for taking great digital photographs. Then explore options for improving or enhancing your pictures with various effects, filters, and editing programs. A digital camera will be provided but you will need to bring a 16GB SD card to store your photos.

    Have you ever played the game Mousetrap? That contraption is called a Rube Goldberg machine. To make the next great thing, you have to have the next great idea! Stretch your engineering and creative thinking muscles to build your own Rube Goldberg machine. A contraption intentionally designed to perform a simple task in an indirect and overly complicated way.

    Budding Lin-Manuel Mirandas (Hamilton) will get the opportunity to co-author, perform, and direct their own 10 minute plays during this week-long introduction to playwriting workshop, focused on the theme "What's on the Horizon?" One part creative writing, one part design, and one part action; this class will be all fun!  Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes to fully engage in planned activities.

  • Dollhouse Design

    June 28-July 2 | 9:00 AM-12:00 PM
    For girls and boys entering grades 1-4
    Each camper will be designing, building, and decorating their very own wooden dollhouse to take home at the end of the week. Campers will learn about blueprints, architectural planning, and spend each day customizing both the exterior and the interior of their dollhouse. We will weave carpets, create custom furniture, decorate the houses with fabric accents and more.

  • Flower Power

    For girls and boys entering grades JK-K
    Use the flowers at the Hutchison farm to make beautiful preserved and living art! Girls will make flower crowns while also practicing patterning and counting. Press flowers for preserving and use flowers as an inspiration for other projects throughout the week.

At the end of camp, the movies will be sent out to each students parent for in-home viewing.

    Like being outside? Interested in exploring? Join us this summer for Outdoor Adventures! Campers will get the chance to try a variety of outdoors activities including: hiking, biking, and more. Campers will also learn about "Leave No Trace" practices and how to safely have fun outside! This camp is designed as both a great introduction to outdoor adventures as well as a fun return to the outdoors for more seasoned adventurers.

The main plot follows the adventures of a mouse named Despereaux Tilling, as he sets out on his quest to rescue a beautiful human princess from the rats. We will read and talk about the book together, book club style.

    Humans are storytellers. In this week-long creative writing class focused on short fiction, participants will draft, edit, revise, and prepare to publish an original short story that meets the criteria for submission in the 2021 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards competition. Writers will workshop their narratives and wrap up the week with a read aloud.

    For students in elementary through high school
    Students will learn fundamentals of drumming as well as rudiments, proper technique. Students will also learn group beats and play as a full group while preparing for the upcoming performance season.

  • Theatre Camp with Marques Brown

    July 26-30 | 9:00 AM-12:00 PM
    For girls and boys entering grades 1-4
    Students will play, discover and get creative.
    Summer Theatre Workshop students in Grades 1-4 will develop theatre skills in a supportive, collaborative, and imaginative environment. Guided by Mr. Brown, a professional teaching artist, students will work together as an ensemble to explore and expand their “Actor Toolbox” – their body, voice, and imagination.  As a part of each day of the workshop, students will participate in Creative Drama & Improvisation classes, and the week long course will culminate in a short filmed showcase to share and display what they have learned, which will be made available to friends and family.
