Spend time outside learning the basics of vegetable, fruit, and flower gardening. What zone do we live in? Where should we plant? How much do we water? Paint and plant a flower pot, make garden markers, build a recycled garden on our farm, and taste some of the yummy fruits of our labor in this action-packed class.
**Masks are required and must be worn, at all times, in order to participate in Center for Excellence classes.

Explore the basics of drawing, painting, sculpting & collage. This six-week art class is filled with projects and activities that will develop your art skills and your creativity!

The Orff Ensemble is for students who love to move, speak, listen to and play music... and make stuff up! In this highly creative ensemble, young musicians will play a wide variety of unpitched and pitched percussion instruments. Students will create theme- or story-based performances based on their development of learned repertoire and their own creative ideas.

Choose Your Own Adventure: A Storytelling Workshop
FRIDAYS, FEB 19-MAY 7 | 3-5 PM For Hutchison girls in grades 1-2
Students will create their own characters, with their own special strengths. They will learn and practice using the elements of storytelling to create their own fun exciting adventures, within their own unique worlds. Skills focused on in this course include creativity, teamwork, improv, character, and story development and will include elements of performance and some light memorization. In between classes will be miniature ‘home-adventure’ assignments, where students will submit short videos, via FlipGrid, to answer a question, respond to a topic, or complete a “special mission.”
